In addition to that, 1975 ties with 1974 for the Most Number 1 Singles in a year with 35 singles hitting # 1. The retail single would average 6-7 weeks in the top ten and many times even less. During the same time period, the turnover was very high for the top singles in 74. Singles tumbled out of the number 1 position and out of the ten many times. Interestingly, 74′ included some of the biggest drops from Number 1. The longest running songs only stayed at the # 1 position for three weeks, which were four altogether.
